I am easily reachable by e-mail (ShelbyMeyerhoff@gmail.com) and cell phone (617-875-5268).
Keeping in touch through social media is also an important part of my work. I regularly post writing, visual art, and face painting photos on Facebook and Instagram. Please connect with me on those channels to see what’s new!
I am an artist, educator, and activist. I am always looking for new opportunities to bring art activities, including face and body painting, to community events and spaces.
My educational background includes visual arts classes at MassArt, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Griffin Museum of Photography, Art Institute of Boston, Parsons School of Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, the Center for Cartoon Studies, and the Illustration Academy.
I offer private lessons on face painting and on the fundamentals of drawing, available for children, families, and small groups. I have taught visual arts in a variety of educational settings for children, including the Umbrella Community Arts Center and Ready Set Kids!
My face painting experience includes parties and events for Studio on the Common, Borealis Community Yoga, Friends of the Fells, the Fessenden School, the East Boston Early Education Center, All You Need is Ice Cream, the Medford Family Network, New England Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indian Americans of Lexington, Faith Christian Church, Mount Hope Christian Church, Jewish Vocational Service, Ready Set Kids! and Boston-area families. I also enjoy body painting on models, performers, and other adults seeking a professional body painting experience. Recent performances include painting for the Tardigrade Stage concert series and the Smoke & Shadows burlesque and variety show.
I have shown my artwork at the March 2017 We the People group show at the Arlington Center for the Arts, the March 2017 Winchester Artists’ Network show at the Winchester (Massachusetts) Public Library, the April 2017 Gathering Places group show at the Umbrella Community Arts Center, and the May 2017 Art Blossoming show at the Beebe Estate. My work has been displayed at Medford City Hall and the Runway Couture boutique in Winchester. I have served as a juror for apexart’s 2017 Franchise Exhibition Program.
